Is it possible to keep SH's in a Refugium?

Hi!
I'm not saying by any means this is what I want to do since I just realized that SH like lower temps and pretty much answered my own question but is it semi possible?
I would like to start another tank and really like SH. They are calm peaceful creatures that are really fascinating. I was thinking of a Cold water Macro algae Forrest and got thinking about SH....
I read that SH keepers tend to have a tall tank as opposed to a long? Could this be another factor against a Refugium?

I don't know the specific answer to your question, but as for the height issue, the tall tank is necessary for the seahorses to do their mating dance and breed. Other than that it wouldn't be necessary to have a tall tank.

no to the fuge question. They need at least a 29 gal tank for a pair and temps should be 74 degrees or lower.
Taller tanks are better, not only for thier dances, they swim tall not long like a fish.

I wouldn't say it was impossible, but def. not recommended. Aside from the coldwater thing, seahorses have no stomachs and therefore need to be fed twice a day causing pollution problems that would cause havoc in your reef. They would also, quickly decimate your pod population as there would no longer be a safe area for them to grow.
In addition, SH are easily susceptible to bacterial infections, etc. They really should be housed in a tank built with their special needs in mind.
Please, read the stickies in the top of this section. Alot of good info there.

I am reading up...Thanks for the great threads up there! Its so cool how when ever I want to learn about the particulars about a SW topic( Zoas, SH's, Soft corals etc) theres already a whole thread devoted to answering all the basic questions for the noobs.
I feel perhaps It might be a good Idea to get more experience under my belt. I had no Idea SH had no stomach...
And a mating dance sounds fascinating.
Thanks for answering my questions.
