I've had my rose bubble tip for 1 month, it hid for a week the crawled out and looked all awesome for 3 weeks, now it looks half sick. One half is still all puffy and the tentacles are full red, on the other half the tenticles are pulled in very short, only a couple have red in them, most are grey.
I flipped the rock over so he was fully exposed to watch what was going on, he hasn't crawled away yet, I have also given him a small piece of sliverside 4 days in a row, he takes it in and about an hour or so later he opens up and the good half bubbles the tips nicely, the other half just sort of does nothing...
Fellow tank inhabatants are:
2 false percs hosted since 1st day
1 yellow tang
1 sally lightfoot
1 emerald crab
2 pencil urchins
1 peppermint shhrimp
Water params tested 2 days ago:
SG = 1.024
temp = 73
ammo = 0
trites = 0
trates = 0
calc = 460
ph = 8.3....
I can post a picture this evening if needed???
Help!

OK, number one. Get your temp up to 78. No idea why you would have it as low as 73. Do it slowly over the course of a couple of days so you don't shock the s out of everything.
As far as the anemone, LEAVE IT ALONE. The more you touch it or flip the rock it's on, the more you stress it. Also, Stop feeding it so much, you're going to kill it. It's going to go where it wants, and that includes dark spots under a rock. Mine did the same thing. It anchored under a rock and then it arches out from under the rock and opens when the lights are on. Lights out, it closes up under the rock. I feed mine a piece of krill once or twice a week, no need to feed it every day.

oops, early morning laptop typo...
temp is 75-76, should I crank up the heaters a little more than that?
I was feeding it every 5 days, but read that a small bite everyday will help a sick rose, I also read a water change might help. I haven't done a water change in about 3 weeks.
Mine was doing the same thing, reaching out from under to get to the light, should I flip it back or just leave it alone now.... Thanks for helping, it's my first rose!

Water changes are B.S. in my opinion, unless you get a sudden build up of nitrates that you need to bring down quickly to save your critters. I've had my 75 up for a year and have done only one water change during a trate spike. I think they do more harm than good, to be honest, by pulling beneficial things out of your tank, but that's just IMO. I guess if you weren't feeding it much, it's not that bad, but I would honestly just let it chill and see what happens. A lot of times just leaving things alone will correct everything. Do you feed your tank cyclopeze at all? Post a pic later if you can. As far as temp, I keep mine at around 78 and everything is happy. I'd say don't flip it again, unless you can get it back in the same exact position it was in. If you leave it as is, it'll just move down to where it likes again. That part is up to you, but remember the more you move him the more you stress him. I'd say best bet is leave it be right now and it'll figure things out for itself...or die. LOL. But I'm sure it'll be fine.

My water changes consist of 10 gallons about once ever 5 or 6 weeks, this is for a 125 gallon. I do it because I believe there are some benefits to be had by refreshing the water with new salt.
No cyclopeze, and no other chemicals added, and the only filtration I have is an algae scrubber. I just googled cyclopeze and will look into it....
I'm going to just leave it alone for now and work on raising the temp slowly, I'll post a picture this evening, again thanks for the help...

I mix a bit of cyclopeze in with whatever food I'm feeding a couple of times a week. It'll swirl around in the water and get caught by corals, nems, filter feeders. It's a good addition to reg food for the corals and the fish in my opinion, if you don't want to be buying live phyto every week.

Heres what the rose looks like, notice the whole front half is sort of flat and well not looking good...
And the very top is almost all grey.

For comparison here's what he looked like at the first of Dec.

I just notice the color difference too, from creamy reds to pink... it's not lighting because the clowns are still the same color top pic to bottom pic.
Any idea why???

I have two 65 watt 10K and two 65 watt 420K
They are about 4 months old
I started the temp up already, it was at 74 without the house heater running. I'll raise it over the next couple of days.

I'm sorry, I don't think this was mentioned but how old is your tank? As a rule of thumb, six months is the minimum to house an anemone.

It's just over 4 months old, been through ick and went fallow for 5 weeks, what would I be lacking by having the anemone in there now?

That makes sense, I didn't think of it that way.
The rose is looking a little better today, The mouth is still looking good so I hope it's just doing this to scare us... LOL
On a good note, my 1 mushroom spawned today, we now have a baby shroom sitting next to the original one...
