Is it time for a clean up crew?

Hello everyone, my tank has been setup since late August, I got two perculas and two domino damsels in it, which were put in September. The tank is a 65 gallon with 60 lbs of Nature's Ocean Live Sand. Since I was in college this entire time, when I returned I saw a lot of brown algae coated along the decorations. However, this doesn't look like the algae that I used to see in my older tanks, it is very thick and looks like tentacles. I'm wondering if the live sand had anything to do with it. I sort of want to get a cleanup crew. My water conditions are perfect. However, my salinit is a little low i believe, 1.019. I was wondering what requirements I needed to purchase a clean-up crew and what other types of fish I can add now that the tank is a bit more matured. Some of the algae on the tank is green but the majority of it is brown. I was just wondering what exactly this is and how it affects my tank. Thanks for any replies.

sounds like it is just part of the algae cycle, nothing to worry about,
if you want to clean it up, yes, some algae eaters will help
i'd opt for a couple of trochus snails, they are a bit more expensive(over the turbos), but they can uprihgt themselves, greatly reducing the chance of loss
and an algae blenny or lawnmower
we have 4 trochus and an blenny, in our 75, and they are doing an outstanding job, keeping 95% of it gone(which is good, because it is not unsightly, yet there is still food for them)
