Is it worth it?

I found a 12 gallon nanocube with out a hood and wanted to know if you think it would be worth me purchasing.. they are asking $15 (i hope nothing is cracked!).... I was thinking of using a viper MH clip on, any one have any suggestions?
And since this is my first cube I was wondering if there is somthing I should be looking for when I go look at it (i mean anything that could be broken)
any mod ideas?

Ok one more question. I found someone wou wanted to get rid of his 12 gallon aquapod and PC lights with glass hood for $80. The tank has never been used so I was wondering would I be better with the aquapod or the nano with no lights of hood for 15?
