in my 75 fowlr tank that has been goin for like 3 months there is a half decent amount of algea growing on the lr and sand. it is a dark green or red. and since i cant buy those expensive lights i kinda like the colors they put in there. is it wrong for me to leave some of the algea growth in there.. my yt seems to like to nibble at it durring the day and my urchin needs plenty to eat cause he is a beast when it comes to eating it. so am i wrong? let me know of probs i could be just helping grow, thanks.

If you like it... keep it. Be careful that it doesn't spread over the entire tank (unless you want it to??) but sense you do not have corals I see nothing wrong with letting the algae grow. Main problem will come in if you decide you don't want it anymore...

if you have stuff that eats it and you live how it looks i wouldnt worry about it. alot of us who hate it have corals and it tends to choke them.

I think it could be wrong to like the bad kinds of algea or bacteria that you might have. Many of them rob your system of oxygen, and they suggest things that are wrong with your system such as overfeeding/nutrient problem, improper flow/turnover rate/oxygen problem, and if you have these and other things it might now be very good for the fish and other inverts that you have living in there as well.
Example:
Cyanobacteria thrive in low circulation and poorly aerated conditions. Simply adding a powerhead might help in this circumstance, or it could be your lighting, or a combination of both, nutrients can play their part with this as well.
Perhaps if you rundown your system for us we might be able to maks some suggestions that are low cost for you to try.
