Is the right lighting that key for your corals? I mean I have a t5 setup. It was given to me its got 4 bulbs and the moon lights. Well here is a pic of it.

Lighting is definitely a important part of successful reef keeping.
So are proper legs for light fixtures lol.I hope your kids dont spot their toys up there.

I was thinking the same thing. I think I have that fixture in the 2 bulb variety, you might be able to buy replacement legs.
As far as your original question, lighting is necessary, but so is high quality water. Parameters should be a lot tighter in a reef than a FO.
