Is Mel Gibson a psycho...or is it really HER?

Saxman what you are saying is perfectly sane. But most of us who have never really had to deal with it, it can be a nasty situation. Its not going back for more.....the abuser is skilled in how he has groomed his/her abused. I worked with an abused female for years. NEVER,NEVER knew it. He groomed her pyschologically as well. He finally snapped, I mean really snapped. He atually conned her back into his life. Its a sick cycle. He finally scr3wed himself by stalking her after she got rid of him. Long story moving forward, but there are so many controlling boys/men/ people out there its ridiculous. We noticed a nasty streak in my daughter ex BF, she didn't until one day she was talking to a friend of hers that is a boy and the kid lost it. Amazing that my husband and me let him live through it. Believe me I had all sorts of terrible ready for him. Instead I called his parents and politely told them about their wonderful son and that they had a delightful situation on their hands. If they didn't get it fixed they won't be so lucky next time. Next time he will be in jail.

This case just seems messed up on both sides. He hasn't been with the woman long enough to condition her to accept this. Maybe it's a cultural thing, I believe she is russian. Perhaps beating women is more common there, dunno.
I was beat on by my ex wife a couple times. My opinion is any woman dumb enough to hit a man deserves whatever she gets in return. The first time the ex was drunk so I cut her slack. Second time which was 3 days later she was stone cold sober. I damn near hit her back. I had her pinned against the frig and drew my fist back, looked at it, looked at her and said "you aren't worth it" which really set her off. The idiot came at me again. As luck would have it we were at my mom's and she stepped in cause there is no doubt in my mind that I would have popped her if she hit me again. I honestly believe the woman wanted me to hit her so she could have a nice little pity party, she excelled at those. It took a while to figure that out but there were other instances of her doing or saying stuff to try to set me off. Luckily I am a pretty mellow guy and not prone to violence.
Now I aint sayin Melsy's woman wanted him to hit her but I have seen women who did start the stuff with their husband/boyfriends then play the poor battered woman card. I also saw a good friend of my mom stay with the A hole she was married too until the day he died (not at her hand but she would have been justified). She was a real sweetheart and never gave the sob any reason I ever saw to hit her.

I have never hit my wife (when she didn't deserve it) and I can't understand men who are caught doing it (they should be able to control their women so no one finds out). Women deserve to be treated with respect (when they are cooking, cleaning and quiet) and men need to better appreciate their wives (after all who else is going to put you to bed after you come home drunk from your girlfriends house?).

Sorry, I guess only people that can tell jokes like that are the ones who have enough control to do nothing like that. I will watch what I say ...

It's just just using the ridiculous to highlight the ridiculous. I have heard alot of radio talk show hosts talk about how Mel was set up and she was intentionally provoking him, etc. He set himself up when he left his wife of 30 years for the young hottie. There's no excuse for him. He was talking like a madman (madmax maybe?) and he got caught. Yep, I think she's a gold digger. But he walked into it and deserves to now be fleeced. She is what she is, he was absolutely, and without reservation, acting more like a rabid dog than a human and should be prosecuted for, at least, harassment. He is a pig.

If you don't act the fool you can't be set up. This is one of those cases where I have zero sympathy for anyone but the kid.

LOL, my Stepdad told the story of getting drunk and making a phone threat to his second wife who really screwed him over. She recorded it and set the cops on him. He was told the cops were looking for him to serve the warrant so he went to the country jail to turn himself in. They wouldn't take him, said he had to go to the sheriffs office. They wouldn't take him either. Took him 2 days to find the right agency to turn himself in

Are y'all listening to the unedited versions of the tapes? The edited versions do no justice.
Mel gave me some classic lines but I won't repeat them here.

I think over the course of 28 years, she would have seen a lot of psycho behavior if this was typical for him...
Leads me to believe this Oxanna chick might be setting him up....pushing buttons and all that. Anyone remember Michael Douglas in Fatal Attraction? The chick had him looking psycho also.

Well, drinking may be a trigger that escalates his behavior.
Secondly, these are two seperate sets of circumstances. The first wife was the high school sweetheart, she had gone the path with him. She probably wouldn't play into the "Mel is God" mindset. She didn't hand him the control in the relationship. This is the reason why alot of times, when someone succeeds they put distance between themselves and the person who was with them in the humble beginnings.
I remember an interview with Jim Carey where he was asked what went wrong with his marriage, he said it was hard to come home from a movie premiere with everyone chanting your name and being told take out thre trash.
I think this woman stroked Mel's ego and allowed him control which went to his head. With someone who feels that he is "owed" hero worship and that has alot of deep seated issues it turned terribly toxic, terribly fast.

He was with his first wife 28 years...28...I don't think ego is an issue that would spark violence....otherwise it would have occurred before. High school sweetheart or not.
drinking could escalating things...but no incidents for the entire 28 years of marriage is a pretty good sheet opf evidence that there is a lot more to this than we are hearing.
