it definatly needs to color up and i dont see any polyp extention....
so it isnt doing great at the moment, but i see no recession so it could be worse. with time and the right conditions it should come back and do fine.

not sure about the color, but it shouldnt be brown. it looks like it will be some form of green, or at least an underlying hint of it

it was brown when i bought it, same color as it is now, just no hints of green, it was my first piece, i will post pics and paras as soon as im done testing, in the midst of it now

i just added 3 new acros and did a water change so thats why i was so low on the calc and alk i think, but i just dosed with BIonic to boost those numbers

have a 44gl corner pentagon, i use a 150w metal halide, all of my acros are about 3-5 inches from the surface, the light is 6 inches from the surface

flow is about 1000 gph, the power heads are pointed almost directly at them, so they are in a high flow area

woah. that is some insanely bad Ca. just adding a few acros not long ago isnt going to cause such a tremendous decrease unless you havent done a water change in a looooong time. but to still be like that aftter a water change? what salt are you using and how many gallons a week do you change? (although, with Ca levels like that, are you doing weekly water changes)

Dont put the SPS right it front of a PH, i did that same thing when i got my first SPS thinking that since i didnt have TONS of flow it would just be best to put it right in front of a PH, it wasnt. Try moving it to a place where it gets good flow, but not like direct flow from a PH.

the place where i got water from sux i realized about a 2 weeks ago, so its been 2 weeks w/o a water change, my ca was that 2 days ago so i dosed with BIonic yesterday and today, i just changed my water today and got it from aquatica, a local LFS. So should i dose with BIonic like crazy till I get up to at least 350??? My power heads are blowing directly at the sps but from across the tank. About a foot and a half away.

just tested my calc again and it only went up to 300 with the BIonic, wtf???? should i dose again???

i keep my calcium at around 480. i have acros and a green hydrophora and they all thrive. IMO its tyhe calcium
