Is my brain ok?

My open brain coral that is...
I just bought it about 2 weeks ago. For the first week, it didn't seem to 'puff up' at all. Now, it is 'puffing up' a little only at night. When I turn the lights on in the morning is is somewhat puffed up, but when I get home in the evening, it is back to it's regular size. I have it on the sandbed under low to med current. I have 440wts of VHOs. Thank has been up a year.

my brains seem to hate carbon. whenever i used to add fresh carbon they stopped opening all the way.
