Is my clownfish sad?

I had a pair of clowns for about a year. The female got sick about a week ago and died. Ever since, the male stays at the top corner of the tank and just hovers all day. He still eats and is looking healthy. He doesnt even host the elephant ear anymore. Do you think it has anything to do with the female dieing? Should I buy another female?

You can either buy another female (a clownfish of the same species that is larger than your male) or buy a juvenile that has not chosen gender yet. Your currently male clownfish will then become the female in the second case. Either way you should definitely get him a partner because they are very social creatures.

Sorry for the loss of you clown..
I for one do think fish feel emotion and yours could be sad, confused, what ever.
I want to say to wait and make sure the male is not sick also, but then agin, maybe a new mate is what it needs. I do agree that if you add another make sure its a juvie.
