Is my fish dying of ich?

As you might already know, my fish had ich last week. It dissapeared and it showed up again the next day. Yesterday, he's fine. No spots, eating fine. When I came home from school today, I saw there is a white stuff hanging out of his anus, and he appeares to be skinny. There is no sign of ich whatsoever though. I have been feeding him well, and he's eating it. So is this one of the effect of ich or is it another disease?

How did you treat the ick? Sounds like you didn't treat it. If you didn't, then the fish is still sick and probably now has a secondary bacterial infection.
What type of tank do you have? Do you have a separate hospital tank?

Sebae_the_clown,
I have recently had a similar white thing haning from my clown's rearend. My clown was timid that day and hiding in a corner until it fell off (I am guessing that it fell off). I also noticed white spots on my clown. If anyone else has any answers for us, it would be greatly appreciated.
Forgive me, I am new to this bb too.

Beth, I didn't do hypo. I did freshwater dip as recommended by my lfs. I also feed him garlic. That's about it. I put Melafix which does not cure ich whatsoever. Yeah, pretty much I didn't treat him for ich. We'll see what happen. I hope he holds on =(

Thank for the help guys, but he died yesterday morning. After I did freshwater dip, which was recommended by my lfs, I read that it doesn't work.
I didn't get any other medicine because they're not invert safe, except kick-ich which is so expensive. There was a medicine mentioned the other day by one of you, nox-ich or something like that. That one is not invert safe, I found out about that right before I was about to buy that.
Oh well there's always a first time for everyone right? :(
Thanks,
