Is my Naso Tang dying?

I have a 55 FOWLR that has been up for a little over a month and a half now. I have an Angel and a bunch of stuff for a clean up crew as well. Just about 2 days ago I thought my Naso Tang was dead so I put my net in there to take him out and he was resurrected, hahaha.
I know I am supposed to put the water parameters but I just had my lfs check them and they said they were really good. Every time I go to my lfs, I get my water tested....sometimes 2 times a week.
My Singapore Angel had a few ick spots on him so I started treating with a reef safe formula which my friend has used and worked great for him before. My Angels ick is completely gone but I am not sure if my Naso is being affected by it....I wouldnt think so?? He has been eating normally and everything else in my tank right now is looking great??
So my questions is, are Naso Tangs known for laying on their sides and then swimming perfectly, then laying on their sides again??
Thanks in advance,
Jamie

only time i have seen my tangs on the side is if they go into a cave to sleep.
you really need to test your own water params, i would never trust a lfs.
remember they are in business to sell you fish!

I agreee w/CGRANT. I think a 55 is defintely way too small for this fish!. Need 125 gallon plus!

A 125 gallon or larger aquarium is necessary to provide plenty of swimming room, and places to hide, with a tight-fitting lid provided to prevent jumping to escape. It is aggressive towards other tangs, but peaceful with other fish in the tank.
Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health. Offer dried seaweed tied to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed at least 3 times per week. Sea Veggies, Seaweed Salad and Ocean Nutrition are all ideal products and are very easy to use.

I wanted to thank you guys for the input but today I came back from work to an upside down tang with white eyes....stiff as a board.
I went to the store today and replaced the tang with a yellow wrasse and a yellow head sleeper gobi. I am hoping these 2 will last longer than the tang.
How many turbo snails is too many for me??? Remember I have a 55 FOWLR.
Thanks!

depends how green your tank is. Usually sold in lots of 10 here. If you get too many they will die back. Too little and you will have algae. Totally depends on how many fish, how much food, how much light, etc. Don't buy too early either. Make sure you have good algae growth, then order cleanup crew, snails and crabs.
