yes please. thanks for your help but its not helping. i dont need to be told that mollys are not saltwater fish. im aware that they are brackish. but they do fine in salt water. as does my brackish puffer. these fish have nothing to do with why my saltwater puffer is acting this way other than the fact taht my molly looks like it has been picked on by a fish which i suspect is the saltwater puffer. the molly is alive but doesnt look good. the front of him looks whitish and teh back of him looks like he has been nipped at quite a bit. so what im trying to figure out is...IS MY PUFFER OK?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

if anyone knew a lick about saltwater species... they could tell that this puffer is in fact a saltwater fish. i dont know where your coming up with this being a brackish fish..
im new to this as i have been researching for about a year now and i am just getting the 150g this month. i love puffers and i might not be too much help but...
how old is your puffer and how long has it been in this tank for? does it just sit on the rocks all day with that shade of color? any info about his personality will help. get back to me and i might be able to help

First of all he is brackish..You have turned him fully salt, I remember when you did it, and I replied because I did the exact same thing..Yes, the molly is being eaten by the puffer...Mine is extremely aggressive if you read back on your old posts...Anyways, he does not look good yes...What the problem is? Hard to tell..What have you been feeding? How is the salinity?

i know this is a saltwater puffer.
i got him this week. he has been in the tank and acting fine. swimming in and out of the rocks and eating normally. this mourning when i turned on the lights he was just sitting on a rock. he had a couple of pieces of crushed coral under him along with what looked like brine shrimp that i fed them last night. i took that picture of him and he got scared away and has been hiding ever since in the rocks. and in the rocks is where i have a brackish molly that has been in the tank since it cycled. the molly looked fine until i put the puffer in the tank and yesterday when they were eating i noticed teh molly looked like it has been picked on pretty badly. so im not sure if the puffer has been in the rocks for hours because it is infact eating that molly or what..
is that enough info? all water levels are good. salt at 1.023-4 ph8.2 am0 nitrate 10 trite 0 alk high

Can you please give some more information. I don't see anything from the pic. He is just sitting on the rock and hiding in it? I see you got him a week ago. Do you see anything on him. Spots, slime, discoloration in the eyes, anything that would lead you to believe he is ill? He may just need time to settle in. Puffers are very interesting specimens with alot of personality.

What do you mean he was "lumpy looking and his fin looked weird" this could be anything. Can you give exact details of what you are seeing?? I can't tell anything from the pic.

Man you need to improve your typing and descriptions a little bit if you want people to try to give you a hand.
