Is my skunk cleaner dying?

I just got a cleaner today that seemed very healthy. I acclimated it for an hour, and then put it in my tank. It has been about 4 hours and now it is hiding behind a rock just leaning on its antennae against the glass. It is moving, but not very much, is it dying? It doesn't look good

Ok, so new question. Can anyone tell me what i did wrong. I brought it right home form my LFS, drip acclimated it for an hour, then put it in my tank. Did i do something wrong?

How long was it in the bag for the trip home and did it have a chance to overheat on said trip home? Also, have you used copper in the tank at all? That would be my 2 (3) guesses.Sorry to hear of the loss. Does the place you got it from have any kind of guarantee?

Trip home was maybe 15 min, at most. I have never used copper. I guess ill never really know what happened. Not sure about a guarantee actually, i called and left a message, and im going back tomorrow.

honestly you will never know. But it looks to me like the lfs keeps there salinity real low like most do. Therefore with your sg at 1.026 you did not drip acc it long enough. But like I said you will never really know for sure.

I think Robert is on to something with the SG. I just aclimated some fish from my LFS yesterday. It took 3 hours of drip method to get their bagged water equal to my tank water of 1.026. Did you test the acclimation water to see if it was equal to your tank water before adding him? Or maybe it was just an unhealthy shrimp. Cleaner shrimps really are cool. I love mine, he is like the star of my tank. He jumps on my hand and tries to clean me when I am doing stuff in the water.
Don't give up on cleaners, they are worth having. Good luck!
