is oatmeal a cereal ?

I maintain that oatmeal is not a breakfast cereal. Sure, you eat it for breakfast and it might be a cereal grain, but hot stuff isn't cereal. Breakfast cereal is served cold with milk.. like Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Captain Crunch.

and yes oatmeal is a cereal it is the exception to the rule. you are right cereal is cold, but there are always exceptions
