OK..I have 2 yellow (LOL) reidi horses, 2 clowns (nemo) 2 yellow clown gobies, 1 firefish, 1 sixline,
I feed one cube of mysis in the morning, and one in the evening
Do you think that's enough???
MAYBE once a week I put a small pinch of thera+ pellets, or formula 2 flakes..VERY VERY SMALL PINCH

i find it very interesting to read post like this(gives me insite on how much i should/need to feed) my self and with 2 firefish,2 cromis,a falco hawkfish, one clown and a lawnmover even though he doesnt eat anyfood i put in. i have always worried that putting half a cube in was to much. i thaw it out and feed a little at a time so very little gets lost.

I think that's prolly pretty good. I feed 1-2 cubes daily for my 2 reidis, firefish, and mandarin. I normally stay closer to 1 cube total, but you have more wildlife in the tank.
It really comes down to chemistry. Do you have any major nitrate spikes (more than normal seahorse spikes, that is)? If you're constantly reading 0 ammonia and nitrites, then I wouldn't be too concerned about overfeeding.

OK, Thanks...my trates and all that are always 0...I did have a phosphate issue that led to cyano, but I have since added a little more flow, and I am rinsing the food EXTRA good...and FINALLY am beating the cyano

I didn't think I was feeding too much cause I NEVER have anything left...I was worried maybe they weren't getting enough, but the way they are growing, I guess they are doing fine...

I'm with you Meowzer..... I"m always afraid that everyone in my horse tank is hungry, because they sure as heck all ACT like they are! I do one cube twice a day for:
3 seahorses
3 small Bangai cardinals
2 firefish
sand-sifting starfish
My nitrites and ammonia are always zero so I am often tempted to feed them more but try to resist. Oh, and like you, once or twice a week I add non-mysis food to supplement the non-horse fish.

Hi everyone, I am new to this thread. I was searching to see how much to feed the 4 H erectus I have.. I have been feeding 3/4 cube morning, remainder in afternoon, and 1 cube in evening. I target feed to make sure each gets their fill, and not sure if I am overfeeding.. Does anyone here do a 1 day a week fast on their seahorses? I have thought of doing this but not sure of what age to begin this. my 2 fe are 8 mnths and 2 males are 5 and 6 mths of age. any help is certainly appreciated.

HI there welcome to swf.....where in OK are you from?
I feed my horses (reidis) in a food bowl....I saw something on that fast once, but never looked into it...

Welcome to the board

From what I learned is you only do the fast on horses if you are feeding them nutrition enhanced mysis with a booster like Selcon or something.
