Is Something Burning?? Mh Owners!!!

I just set up my new light fixture, and they look awesome. Is it common for them to stink like burning all the time. I thought they would be alot cooler also with the ballast removed that thing is soooo cool, but it vibrates up a storm
I love the new lights but any suggestions or facts are appreciated>

is your light pretty close to your tank?? i dont have a mh but i have dealt with it in the past for some indoor plant stuff.. water splashing up from the tank might be the problem...

burning?- yeah.... never experienced that. you might want to check it out. My balast doesnt vibrate a lot either. what type of fixture is it?

Is it your bulbs that are stinking? If so, sounds like they need to be cleaned off good.
I wouldn't trust anything that smells like it is burning.

Mine doesn't smell like it's burning (never a good sign) or vibrate at all.

When you first hooked up Mh lighting the heat of the bulbs did'nt smell? Maybe burning is'nt the best description but more a "NEW" smell like when a brand new engine gets started for the first time. Also, its about 6" inches from the center brace of the fish tank which my 150w 20k bulb is directly over, maybe I can put something over it.

mine did smell new now I don't smell a thing a month later. Think it was just the plastic and the fans more than the MH
