Is the Carpet In Trouble?

Here he was yesterday...

He was fine last night as well...go to bed, this morning...he didn't look so great...turned on PCs....turned on MHs 1.5hours later....now he looks like this (which is better than when I first got up)
Tested water parameters (ph, nitrite, nitrates, salinity, calcium, temperature) and only the PH was off by a fraction...its probably around 8.0.
He seemed to love the MHs yesterday...so I left them on for about 6 hours. Did I blast him too much? Any suggestions? Should I do a water change anyways? I have about 15 gallons ready to go if I should do the change.
Thanks for any help.

They can and will change appearence/shape on a regular basis depending on their mood. In your other thread it sounded like you recently added it...so I wouldn't be too concerned about its current condition...I'm betting within a day it'll look much better. As long as it feeds...has plenty of light...and stable water chemistry it'll be fine.

Another note is I fed it a shrimp yesterday....it was a pretty decent size (ones you buy from the grocery store for salads).
He was bubbling up really tightly in the center and his mouth was sticking out some. Maybe he was pushing out his waste and how he is relaxing?
I just turned out the MHs and now he isn't flattened out anymore...he is in a upright position and sort of making "petal" type shapeswith his body.
I think he'll be fine...I just need to figure out the proper amount of light. I typically wouldn't have turned on the MHs after only 1-1.5hours of having the PCs on. I prefer 3 hours PCs, 6 hours MHs, 3 hours PC, 12 hours night.
Is that good for a carpet?
Again...6X65 PCs, 2X175 MHs...he is directly under 1 of the MH bulbs.
Thanks,
Matt

Quick update...he is doing much much better...Im not sure what his problem was this morning or even if it was a "problem"...he is currently on the move looking to attach his foot to some of my rock work...I'll post a picture when he is fully setup.

Glad to hear its doin better. What kinds of fish do ya have in there? Let us know how it goes with this guy, i love the way they look but im afraid that one would eat my fish (although my tank is too small anyway...but i can dream, can't I?).

couple clowns, yellow watchman goby, orange scorpionfish, and a clown goby (who I worry the most amount). I will be adding a Tang + 1 other fish. Rest will be corals.
