Is there a quiet skimmer?

I'm looking to get a new skimmer to replace my prizm skimmer in my 75 gallon non drilled reef/fish setup. I plan on building a sump out of a 20 gallon tank but i want to find a skimmer first so I know how big to build the compartments. I would like to find one that is quiet, the prizm skimmer was so loud it drove me nuts. i want to keep it around $150. I have looked at the octopus skimmers and the Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer. I just need some guidance.

Out of your choices Octupus would be the better skimmer IMO.

My deltec is really quiet, works great also, but a bit pricey if I remember :thinking:

I wanted a real quiet one since my tank is in the same room as the tv. I did get it at a discount, upgraded in a package deal when I bought the tank.

Is there another brand of skimmer you would recommend that is in my price range

Octopus as you have suggested, ASM would be my choices.....in that price range....

ASM skimmers are relatively quiet if you put them into a sump.
Skimmers by nature, are rather noisy. Putting them into a sump that is under a stand and insulate the stand with foam is your best bet overall.

mine was loud from vibrating in the sump, so i sat it on small rubber tubes and it left, that might help if its vibration
