Is there a way to train my marroon clown?

My marroon clown like to use it's tail to swat the sand and he has now pushed most of the sand in the tank to the front against the glass. I have distributed the sand back around the tank several times and he just keeps doing it. I would actually like to add more sand but not if he continues this behavior. Is there a way to break him of this habit or can I just hope that he will eventually tire from doing this?

He will keep doing it. Mine is about 5 years old now and he has always done it depending on where his anemone is at the time. If the anemone is high on the rocks then he will not do it. I finally just ended up removing most of my sand for a few different reasons and my tank seems to be responding well to it.

It is normal behavior, mine do it all the time....I figure it is their world and they can rearrange it the way they want...between the clowns and the goby, I gave up years ago trying to control the sand piles..LOL

I leveled it back yesterday but I know it will be piled up again when I get home. My perc clown did it some but the marroon clown can't seem to get enough of it. At least I know my sand is being turned over.
