I got a sebae anemone about 2 wks ago and he is doing good now, but when i turn the lights on he shrinks up and lets go with his foot of what he is holding onto, when lights are out his foot is secured to a rock and he opens really big. Whats the deal is there an explanation or is my anemone just not good. I've got 435 watts of VHO and 220 watts of PC. Any replies would be great, this thing is bothering me.
Thanks,
Kyle

well...the only place that it will securly attach is kinda in the shade underneath a small rock, everywhere else in the direct light it wont really take hold. i have another blue actinic light on order, right now i only have one blue and 3 whites, my lfs said it would probably do better under bluer actinic lighting. Does that sound right or not.

Kyle,
If it were me I would let the anemome attach wherever it chooses.
If it wants to attach in the shade - so be it. It knows best.

I had one that did the same thing. And it kept getting smaller and moving all the time. I would find it and move it back out into the light and it would just go hide again. I thougtht it had died after months of this but after about a year I moved my tank and took out all the rock and found it. it was so small like the size of a pencil eraser. Don't know why they do this kind of moving either, it died during move. But My blue carpet has survived the move and I have had it for about 3 years.
