My Racoon Butterfly has Ich and I have it in a quarantine tank. I am treating it with STOP parasites. He is breathing rapidly and lying on his side. Occassionally he gets aup and swims a bit but then lays back down again. Is there anything else I can do?

The most widely recommended treatment for ich is hyposalinity. It is pretty much 100% effective, unlike the medicines sold in stores. The procedure is outlined in the FAQs thread near the top of this page. :)

You can also start feeding him food mixed with "Kent's extreem garlic." or another brand besides kent. Post a new thread asking about garlic and watch how many people respond. I swear by this stuff. What it does is it raises a fish's immune system; in other words, it helps fight off diseases like ick, popeye, etc. Don't just use it while your fish is sick, use it everyday. Not only does it work great for fish, but I also add it to my tank 3 times a week and this (helps) ick and other things from coming back. Many people think it cures ick...it does not, it only helps to get rid of it and helps it from not coming back. SWF.com sells it, but so does most lfs.
Use it and you will have happy:happyfish for a long time to com.
