Hey Mr. Grumpy, chill out. Coral Keeper has every right to ask as many questions as he's/she'd like. I dont know what you guys have going on, but theres no need.
Coral;keeper. Most likely it is bleahed. Has it turned any whiter since you got it? Who had it before you? For how long? LFS? GENERALLY speaking, white is a sign of bleached out photosynthetic animals. It is the color of pure calcium carbonate as in the skeletons. As well tissue in some(most?) animals is white without the presence of zoanthalae(sp?). You see on stoney corals a white leading edge. This is not usually bleaching. It is new skeletal growth. As a general rule, stay away from bone white specimens. There may be some that are healthy animals, but I cant think of ANY that are photosynthetic that are white.
BTW, I hope my 12 Y.O. is half as enthused about this hobby when he's your age. Keep up the good work.
Also, there are many young hobbyists on this board, AT LEAST ONE OF THEM IS A MOD, and Damn fine reefer if I dont say so myself. He gets mucho respect when selling his frags throughout the net. I just wish I could get my hands on some of them.
Good luck,
Charlie
