its really small, like pillbug size. im not sure if ill be able to find it again but ill see if i can get a better pic. ive been reading that chitons are typically bigger.

Wait now... how fast does that move. When you see it, try to remove it. If it resists like a really strong snail, it is a chiton.... actually, if it doesn't run away and you get to even attempt to lift it.... it is a chiton. Does it act like a snail or like an isopod?
I'm gonna throw up some pics.....

You can't count all 8 plates on this guy because he is of the fuzzy variety...

This is a roly poly isopod...... a sphaeromatid.....

im guessing its a chiton. i popped it off the rock and counted the plates (8). it looks like a snail or limpet underneath.
