Is this a coral?

I just recently upgraded from a 12gallon fish only tank to a 24 gallon fish only tank. I went to the LFS to get a couple more piece of live rock so the new tank didn't look so empty. After getting my rock the guy threw in a couple of pieces of broken rock for free. So as I was setting them up I noticed that one of the small broken pieces has some yellow things on it and I'm wondering if they are a yellow polyp. I have a 24gallon nano-cube with compact florescent 50/50 lights. If this is some type of coral will I be able to keep it alive and what do I need to do for it? I never intended on having more than a fish only tank, but I will certainly give it a try.

It doesn't appear to move with the water. It's really small so I don't know if that would make a difference.

looks like yellow polyps that havent opened. What lights do you have? and what are your water readings, and flow

The lighting consists of 2 50/50 compact fluorsecent lamps. The daylight side is 10k and the actinic is 7100, the rock is sitting about 1/2 way up in the tank, approximately 6 inches from the light. The water flow is 266gph and the rock is on the oppisite side from the nozzle. Right now the water readings are:
Ammonia-0
Nitrate-0 (just did a water change not much time for it to build up yet)
Nitrite-0
ALk- 180ish
pH-between 7.8 and 8.4 (color change was inbetween)
Althought the tank is a upgrade most everything in it is from a 6yr established 12 gallon tank with only a new addition of 2 pieces of cured live rock and this one with the polyps. I've been keeping a close eye to make sure I don't get an ammonia spike.
This is an unexpected addition to a FOWLR tank, but if I can keep it alive I would be more than willing to try, I just need some tips since it's something I didn't reseach.
On another note, some of them look more "poochy" at the top. Does this mean that they are getting ready to open?

give it a few days. How many watts are the bulbs.
If they open, you can try to feed them. They will eat mysis if they are yellow polyps

Well they are open. Do they still look like polyps?

My LFS is out of mysis right now, but I do have some frozen brine shrimp. Can I cut that into pieces and feed them? These things are tiny! Anything else I need to do for them?

yes, they look like they are recovering. If they had been without light for a while, they may take some time to fully open. They will even eat crushed flake if they can catch it. They may need something really small until they fully open
