Is this a disease?

My Royal Gramma developed this greyish line on the side and is getting more prominent. It does not appear sick?
Is this an infection?

are the scales damaged or is it above the scales. Does it look like he has scratched himself against a rock?

Scales are intact, not sure if it was induced by a rock. He is very active, may be it is itchy, he tries to rub it against the sand.

sounds like he is irritated. They do that also when they have ich. Watch out for possible outbreak. See if anyone else in the tank is doing the scratching thing. If they are, time to treat. If they arent and it is just him, time to quarentine him. If it is ich.
