Then after that I will type everything I am might be getting to start off my new 30 gallon aquarium from the fish to the sand and I'd love to hear any and all suggestions and you can always e-mail me at RiseOfMonkeys@msn.com if you recommened a website with cheaper prices than what I have listed below. And again (I known you shouldn't begin a sentence with "And" but me reckonings ms pilcher can' jus f**king goo write on too H**l!
P.S. She was very mean) I thank all those who previously posted helping me get to this list.

Oh ya plus I was going to get 10 electric bluelegged hermit crabs for $25.00. Would 10 be enough for the tank I was hoping to get? Also would I need snails too and if so which type and how many (keep in mind the bicolor angelfish also likes a little algae)?

Most people prefer the Red Scarlet Hermits..
They are less aggressive.
The Blue legs will kill snails and themselves for shells even if you have 2 billion extra shells laying there.

You could tweek that list a million times, but IMO it looks good this time. If anything is wrong from hear on out, you will prolly learn with experience. Did you do a tally on how much you saved from the first list to this one??

How come you didnt list a filter?Dont get a powerhead thats too strong for 30 gal.You dont want to blow them out of the water do you?.:happyfish Dont forget tank, stand, lites, background and powerstrip.

His LR, LS and skimmer are all the filter he needs, and that powerhead should be just fine for a 29gallon, just be sure to bounce the flow of the powerhead off the rock or the glass.

Thanks for the help everyone. But I still need to decide on what RO unit to get. But I was planning on getting 30 gal. of distilled water to fill my tank with and still get distilled (59 cents per gallon) during the cycle until I start to add fish/inverts then I'll probally get an RO unit to do the 50% water changes. By the way how often should I do 50% water changes (besides the cycle)? Thanks again for the help everyone. :)

-I would get the AquaC remora skimmer instead of the BakPak...
-And, I wouldnt bother getting any type of hermit crabs, because any type will kill snails for their shells, and, snails are a lot better cleaners too.
-Instead of brine shrimp, mysis shrimp would be a lot better since they have a better nutritional value.
hth..:D

Hi Hermit
My hubby and I were going to buy a ro unit a little to exspensive for us wright now. Go to your Local Grocery store and buy the water in the machine outside. we pay .25 gallon for RO/DI water. We just had to purchase 5 gallon container for 10 $. Since we have a bigger tank we got 2. It costs us 1.25 to fill up a 5 gallon container. You might have to make a few trips to store. But it's easier for us anyway then to pay 200.00 for a RO unit.

My LFS sells the RO for .50gl. Try there (well...yours:D ) I think the fish list is a little large. Also are you going to have FOWLR or reef...makes a big difference in lighting needs. When adding your LR, save some money, put base rock on the bottom, and live rock on top of that. The live rock will seed the base. Also, I would rethink the maidens hair, it can spread in ways you may not want, but thats my experience, results may vary

i HAVE LEARNED FROM EXPERIENCE THAT YOU CAN SAVE A FORTUNE BUYING SOMEONE ELSES SYSTEM THEY ARE GETTING RID OF ON ---- OR CRAIGLIST. YOU DONT ALWAYS GET THE EXACT EQUIPMENT YOU WANTED , BUT THE MONEY YOU SAVE IS WELL WORTH IT. JUST BE PATIENT AND YOUR DREAM AQUARIUM WILL COME TO YOU
GOOD LUCK
