Is this green hair algae?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question. The LR we have in our tank was purchased at our LFS, but was brought to them from a previously established tank. We bought it because of the coraline all over it. Today I was looking at the rock, and noticed 'hair-like' stiff waving around on it. Is it algae, or something else growing from it?

Very hard to see what's going on in the pic. Can you get a close up?
I do see a couple of areas that look to me like you may actually have some aiptasia (pest anemones that will take over your tank). Hard to say for sure.
This is the area that I'm concerned about...

That was what I was talking about too... I can try to get s closer picture, but if you think it's that anemone, what can I do about it?

Well if that is what it is I'd say call around to some local fish stores and see if you pick pick yourself up a peppermint shrimp. I had one that worked wonders for keeping it under control. But not everyone has had that same success with them. They don't seem to want to eat them once the anemones get too large.
There are a number of products used to control them. Joe's Juice, Pickling Lime (from a grocery store), Aiptasia X etc. Most of those products (accept the pickling lime) will come with a syringe or injector. You need to inject the product into the mouths of the pest in order to kill them. And they can be rather hard to kill sometimes, you may have to dose them a few times but slowly over a period of time. You don't want to dose too much of that stuff into your tank at any one time.
Others here might have some more ideas.
But I'm not comfortable recommending you go out and start using those products unless we can give you a more positive i.d. with a better pic if possible.

Thank you! That is definitely what it is. When I got home last night I looked closer, and you can actually see a 'branch' of the stuff on a small cave on that rock. But, I can't put any life in yet because we literally just filled it on Tuesday. I'm going to keep an eye on it, and some peppermint shrimp will be our first purchase.
Thanks so much!
