Is this ich? -Pics

He has tiny white specs on his sides and front fins. He's eating well and my other fish do not have the same symptoms. These were the best pictures I could get.
-Thanks

It is hard to tell from the pictures. Take a look at the examples of ich in Beth's Diseased Fish FAQ. It does sound like ich from your description though. How long have you had the fish?

Its been around 2 months now. I'm reading through Beth's FAQ page now. I have 5 fish in my DT, all are under 3 inches. Should I and could I put them all in a 20 gal QT? The other fish have no signs of Ich.
Would I have to put my LMB in the QT? I hear they cannot contract ich. I also have a Maroon clown who has an anenome, would he be ok in the QT without his anenome?
I have many inverts and some corals in my DT, how long will it take the ick to die in my DT with all that life?
Thanks everyone!!

All of the fish will have to be treated. The clown will be fine, and the lmb most certainly can get ich. Is the 20 gallon cycled?

The 20 is not set up yet, I am getting the complete set up tomorrow and will be using water from my DT for the QT. I am also worried about my mandarin gobie, how could he survive in a QT without any pods?
This sucks!!

If you are buying the tank then get a 20 long. It allows more horizontal swimming space for the fish. A mandarin does not have to go into the qt. The lawn mower blennie does. Does he eat prepared foods?

I just got my LMB 3 days ago so i'm not sure if he'll eat prepared foods. I could give him some algae sheets while in QT tho. I've been reading alot about QT but I cant seem to find a definative answer about how long I should wait until putting them back into the DT. How long will the parasite last in the DT?

Six weeks is the recommended time frame. For the LMB, if he will not eat the algae, you can always target feed him copepods with a turkey baster. They usually accept prepared foods though.

Thanks Sep!
If I use some DT water can I just throw the fish in right away? Should I be taking anything else into consideration?
The tank will cycle. Use as much biological filtration from the display as you can. Use the filter pad from your display tank and a few cups of sand. Have water mixed for changes.

If I use DT water, can I put the fish in right away? Or do I have to let it cycle. I've read about painting the bottom and having structure for the fish to hide in.
Thanks Sep!

You can put the fish in right away, but the tank is going to cycle with the fish in there. You will have to be on top of water changes to keep the ammonia and nitrite as low as possible. This is often very stressful to the fish. You can try a reef safe product in your display while you cycle the quarantine tank. I have heard very mixed results about these products, so I cannot tell you how well it will work. It should keep the parasites off of the fish long enough for you to cycle the QT. You should darken the bottom of the tank. Some people darken the back as well. You can pick up some lengths of PVC pipe for the fish to hide in. Fake plastic decoration works as well. Take a look at Beth's Common Treatments FAQ. She has examples of how to set up a quarantine tank.
You are very welcome

So I dont need to QT my mandarin? why is that?
Mandarins have a VERY thick slime coat. Ich cannot attach to it. In severe cases of ich in the tank, mandarins can be effected. They are not generally though. If you want to qt the Mandarin, you can do so. You will have to spot feed him copepods with a turkey baster. It is completely doable.

I have both LMB and Mandarin. It's going to be fun catching all those fish!! I'm sure my damsel will be a treat.
No one said that it would be easy
It will be harder when the tank is fully stocked. Try to catch them when they are asleep. Move some of the rock over and get a divider, or make one out of eggcrate. Drop food on the bare side, when they come over to get it, then drop the divider.
