I am in the same boat trying to find out what I should get.
I read this
Instant Start Ballasts vs Program Start Ballasts
There are two types of ballasts available to drive T5 HO lamps: Program Start and Instant Start. Instant Start ballasts ignite lamps by providing a significant voltage across the lamp during starting. This can reduce lamp life especially in frequent starting applications. Program start ballasts incorporate a precise starting sequence that brings the lamp up to full brightness by preheating the lamp cathode and then applying voltage across the lamp. Program Start ballasts can actually extend the lamp life.
so I would find out if they are instant start or program start.
I have another post up which I am not getting many responses 2 so hope yours turns out better than mine.
I see the nova extreme pro is a decent light andd have a lady who turned me onto it. I am thinking about buying it but my LFS will sell me some other kind below cost because I did them a favor and gave them a cowray and a remora I picked up at another LFS for free as their tanks were not big enough and then met them half way between springfield and saint louis missouri so they are very happy to get 700 dollars in free fish.

Cabin: The fixture you listed uses PC lamps, which are a bit outdated and will only allow you to keep softies and most LPS depending on your depth. IMO look into a good T5ho setup. While it might be more expensive up front, you will save a lot of money in the long run, plus you'll be able to keep just about anything you wanted depending on the setup.
