Is this normal?

I have a baby purple tang in my tank. I feed it a small square of "Sally's Seaweed Salad" (processed alage?) once a day, or once every other day.
Thing is... everything in my tank eats the algae also.
- Royal grama will pick at the square and eat it
-clarki clown will pick/tear at the square and eat it
-chromis will not pick at it, but will eat little pieces that float around after the others tear at it
-lil neon goby will pick/tear at the piece with a vengence.
-emerald crab leaves his host mushrooms (he rarely leaves his mushrooms) and will grab a big piece of it and bring it back to his mushroom cave.
-fire shrimp will grab and eat hoards of it.
-peppermint shrimp will also pick at it.
-even the snails and hermits will go to the square.
only the yellow watchman will not eat it.
Is this normal? if they are eating the seaweed, should I feed them less frozen shrimp and clam? I currently do not feed them much(brine), a little tiny bit (20sec to eat it all) once a day or every other day.
finally got my nitrates down to 5ppm and dropping (from 25+). So I'm dont want to overfeed them. but they eat the algae in about a hour or two. is my tang getting enough to eat?
90lbs of LR, but not much algae growing. (red slime came and went away by itself) and the macro i have in the tank, the tang does not like. he will eat it if I dont feed him for a day or two, but otherwise he does not like it.

It is normal for most fish to eat some algae, a large number of the fish we keep in our aquariums are omnivores so they like a little of both.
As far as amounts, I would keep doing what you are doing, if the fish looks thin then you can increase a little, and like you said it has the macro to feed on if it needs to.
