Is this normal?

My brittle star that died a few days ago lost its arms before it died
, I missed one and now it is moving around the tank :notsure: . Does this happen often? Will it become a new star, or should I remove it as well?

As the name suggests, the arms of the brittle stars are rather liable to break. This is actually an escape mechanism. Those arms regenerate quickly and an entire new organism can regenerate, if the broken arm is attached to a seizable portion of the disk.

Looks like he'll be back.

But it is only the arm. There is no sizable portion of the disk attached. Will it still survive?
