I think my wrasse is pregnant. Can anyone tell me if it is? If, so does it lay eggs or give live birth? Should I put it in a QT by its self? If live birth, do I need to get these fish out of the tank so they don't get eaten or sucked up by the filter? Also, can someone ID this fish? I am not sure what kind of wrasse it is.

looked, it could also be dropsy. it causes swelling, but i don't have a phd, so you might check into taht. if it is, isolate him and treat with maracyn-plus for SALTWATER. good luck

Thanks! I looked up dropsy and I think that might be it. I am going to the fish store today to see if I can get medicine. Thanks for helping me catch it in time (I think).

This was seriously a waste of SWF.com's bandwidth. Even if it was laden with eggs I will put money on the fact that you didnt have a male. I would recommend observing your tank here and there so you know what your fish look like under various circumstances - if you cant tell when they are full how will you know when something is wrong?
