Is this Wrong? Sharks

I asked a Couple of fish related Questions to Someone i Know personaly off the boards. Another member jumped into one of these threads and told us not to talk on the board. I would not genral chat on the board, but i feel a legitmate Fish related Question even to someone you know should be OK. Am i wrong?

i'm no shark, but they have not said anything to others that i have seen
so i wouldn't worry about it, many of us do that from time to time, and it is nice, because we can all learn from it and you may even get more input, than you expected which could help you even more
i don't think they reallycare about that mush, like i said it is still beneficial to the board, but if it is a private conversation, which only the 2 of you would be in on and can get in on(like you tank my tank and not more of an info or all to know) and others cannot participate, i would personally use an IM service, many of us do this too
