Issues using regular fine sand instead of live sand in reef tank?

I'm new to the hobby are was in the process if purchasing a tank from a friend. The tank has live rock and the sand currently in there was regular fine sand. The tank has been established for approximately 4 years...I will be transferring everything including water.
I plan on adding an additional 50lbs of regular fine sand purchased from the LFS...Will I run into any issues using regular sand and setting up the tank as a reef tank?

once the sand is populated with bacteria it will be live sand. also, you dont need to move all the water. i would actually suggest moving and using only 1/2 of the water and filling the tank up with freshly mixed saltwater.

+1 also i would wash the new sand before hand to keep the cloudiness down.personally i would use the old sand and wash it in freshwater first.it will save you some cash

deejeff: i'll see your +1, and raise you a +1 and a "make sure to keep the rocks wet during the move"

Keep in mind, you didn't say how large this tank is. I used super fine sand in my 40 breeder and regret it. Even directing my powerheads upwards, my rocks still end up covered with sand that I blow off almost daily. I have never had this issue in one of my deeper tanks that has super fine sand, or any other tank that has larger grained black sand.
