like i said its only half done and i plan on sputter coating half the diameter of the cylinder with aluminum from an ion source to make the glass like a mirror.....the fixture will hold a 250 watt MH bulb.....
so my question is will the fan blowing down the length of the cylinder cool down and cut back on most of the heat created by the MH bulb???
i plan on putting it on my 20 gallon ~4 inches from the water with 130 watts of PCs
am i going to flash boil the tank??

Is that UV blocking glass? I have also heard the reccomendation of not running a fan directly on the bulb.

You know when I ran DE bulbs it was suggested to me NOT to blow a fan directly on the bulb.. I think ONE of the reason was that it wouldn't run as bright. Seems like there were a few more. Its ok to do it on single ended bulbs.

I'd contact the manufacturer, not the seller cause they'll tell you anything.

I've heard that the fans do not allow the bulb to operate at its correct temperature and thus cause problems such as incorrect spectrum, decreased life, etc.
