Its a dust storm!?!

OK I had moved my fish to a QT for treatment so I figured it was time to change my CC to sand. I bought 50lbs of Old Castle Southdown from Home Depot. After soaking it in water and removing my CC (to a pair of pantyhose) I added the sand to my tank over a few days. The cloudyness cleared up in a few hours but now my live rock has a white film on it.
Is this OK? I rinsed a few off in front of my powerhead a bit, but the rocks still have some dust on them. My snails are cleaning it off a bit now but as a newcomer I worry about every damn little thing!!

I added my sand on Sunday. Boy, a big cloud! And I ended up with 3" of sand and a 1/2" of mud that I have to suck up now.
I removed my CC and added the sand. Put LR in bottom tank and rerouted the filter system. Everything should be ok in a week.

Take a new turkey baster and gently blow the dust off.
