So, I was feeding my pair of picasso percula clowns this evening, and i fed them thawed out frozen mysis shrimp, as you do. San francisco bay brand sally's mysis. the kind that comes in little cubes, you know.
anyways, about 2 hours after i fed them, i went and sat down next to the tank, looked real close... i thought i saw something moving in my sand! super teeny tiny, i looked even closer, my head almost against the glass, and wouldnt you know it
there were 5 little mysis shrimps, alive, screwin around at the bottom of the tank. how the heck?!
youve gotta remember that i got that mysis pack like 3 months ago, so its been in MY freezer for at least that long, and then however long it has been sitting in the freezer at my lfs. (and its a pet store, not just a fish store, so like, i didnt even know i could buy frozen fish food there, so i bet its been there for a while too)
anyways, i just thought it was rad that these little mysis shrimps survived all that and still had enough energy to like fight and throw eachother around at the bottom corner of my tank.
no, they are not copepods or any other kind of little marine life bugger. theres no doubt that they are mysis and that they are fully alive and chillin, although who knows for how long

Live mysis are very common in tanks if you added LR, it is quite possible over time you will get mysis (especially in protected corners and such of the tank).
