I was thinking of setting up a 55 gallon aggressive tank for my Maroon clownfish in the future. Ill PROBABLY set it up next year on by birthday so by dad can buy me the tank and stand.
Right now the maroon clownfish is fine in the nano reef, but when she does out grow it I was thinking of setting up a 55 gallon tank for her and make it into a aggressive tank. I was wondering, what kind of fish should I put in there that will not pick on or kill a maroon clownfish. How much will it cost to set it up, like the filtration, salt, heaters, ect. I all ready have the fixture and the sand. If I do set up the 55 gall, ill make a fuge and fill it up with chaeto for the 55 gall.

Here is a stock list I made up. Will everyone be ok with each other and have enough space to swim? Here is the stock list I came up with: 1 Snowflake Eel, 1 Red Spotted Hawkfish, 1 Valentini Puffer, 1 Pearlscale Butterfly fish, 1 Maroon clownfish, and MAYBE 1 Blackfoot Lionfish. But I'm most likely not going to get a lionfish because my parents wont let me get one because they are Venomous. So, what does everyone think about the stock list?

Id probably skip the pearlscale, or any butterfly for that matter. Ive had butterflyfish beaten to death by things far more peaceful than an adult maroon clown. A dwarf angel might be a good substitute as they can hold their own much better. Id also not recommend the blackfoot lionfish, although the fuzzy dwarf would be an excellent choice and theres really very little danger of getting stung, I got my first lionfish when I was in the 5th grade.

I'm not going to get the lion fish. My parents do let. I am going to get the Pearlscale Butterfly fish because I don't want to have the same thing everyone els has. I want something different.

Wouldn't butterflies need a bigger tank?

No. I asked and a person said that this would be a good choice and any other butterfly fish that stays 5 inches and under.
