was there 3/28/06 stayed at sunset jamica grande was awesome did alot of snorkling going back 11/11/07 going to montego bay can't wait nice pics gotta try taking pics this time
yup it was a porites and by the next day that red algae was mowed down by something and the colony looked pretty nice. my uncle used to own a villa in runaway bay that had access to a private beach that the outer reef happened to come into the shallow enough to snorkle and it was unbelievable it made the reef in negril look like florida. the elkhorn colonies were 5+ across havent been to it in a few years and i hope it is still in as good condition
porites are a coral that is underated IMO. some of them are really nice, but most people have either never heard of them or wouldnt even bother with them.
anyway, cool pics.
you both went to the sandals ochos rios or just there?? I about picked that for our honeymoon but went with negril in jamaica because it's supposed to have better dive sites.....thats cool pics!

i was there oct 06 too. Got my scuba cert right there
I went to Negril in May of this year. I got some pics that I need to upload. We went snorkling and took a ton of pics. I couldn't talk my wife into scuba because we saw a sea snake on the glass bottom boat tour.
Don't stay at the village point in Negril. It wasn't as nice as Sandles. Spend the extra and stay @ Sandles.
me and some friends went to jamica via a cruise. we went to ocho rios, and saw some waterfalls and stuff. it was before i got into the hobby so i didn't even think about diving back then, anywho.... we couldn't go anywhere without being hounded by the locals. 'huh, whats in that pipe your selling sir'.
