If you know of a place cheaper then ---- which is a constant 80-100 bucks then please PM or email me at ketteringstudent@yahoo.com
Also this is a 12 gal so would a medium anenmone and 2 medium clowns be good for fish wise? I want a purple lobster also, but the rest reefed up?

I paid $99 for mine at the LFS, and this seems to be MSRP on these things. If you get a sweet deal on ----, go for it, but I'd recommend buying one locally- the first one I got was cracked all the way around it and I had to drive back to exchange it. So, check it out before you take it home if you can. As for the clowns, they'd be fine, but you're limited with the amount of fish you can put in there. And no anemones- try looking at hairy mushrooms, or maybe hammer coral if your water is great - clowns like to host in both of those, and they're relatively low light. Good luck!

Mark-
I've had my Nano Cube reef up for a year with no problems- the light has and does sustain my reef containing low to mid light corals (mushrooms, zooanthids, leathers, branching hammer, pagoda cup) and has allowed them to propagate successfully. That being said, I'd say the retrofit isn't necessary. One factor is that the tank is very shallow- the prime real estate once the tank has rock in it won't be more than 2-4 inches from that 24W pc strip. The only thing I don't like about them is the lack of a skimmer, something that has been overcome with regular water changes.
