Im also very interested in jellyfish and octupus/cuttlefish. I was wondering about getting moon jellies. Now I need to know everything. The only things I know is the tank should be high and you should have a sponge filter. Could any give me info on these?
Also, I want to get a octupus. But I need to know ones that live longer than a year(if there is). It doesn't matter what size they are but they have to be in the aquarium trade. I also need to know minimun size tank and any other info?
Srry for long post. Thx

i wouldnt suggest jellyfish unless you are an expert marine aquarist. even the slightest to powerfull water movement could kill the jellyfish. but if youstill want to look into one google the jellyquarium. its designed specifically for jellyfish. as for the octopus im not sure ive never looked into these. sorry if im not allowed to put the jellyquarium in the post cause it might be breaking the no advertising other websites. sorry if it is.

these animals are generally considered expert only
Jellyfish require specially made housing, and unless you are going to build it yourself is very expensive- Usually the tank itself is no less than 1500.00 plus the stand. Ive seen systems upwards of 8-11K.
this one is 40gal and is over $8,000.00

Heres a quick FAQ on jellies click here
Octopus are escape artists and usually are not suited for the home aquarium. Most of the pretty ones are poisinous like this one:

and others just cant possibly be provided the environment they need in the average home aquarium due to space issues and the need to be 'entertained' as they are very intelligent and that shouldnt be taken lightly.

Both of these types of animals have very specific needs and require alot of attention, I would do alot of research before making this type of investment.

Jellyfish are a very hard species to take care of. I think just stick with an octo for now. Go to TONMO.com. It is all about octopus and cuttlefish care. You find much more people who have had expierence with octos and cuttles. Do alot of research before you buy any of those you mentioned.
