Jellyfish?

I was at my not so local fish store the other day, 20 miles away but really beautiful fish. They had these little lellyfish there. The little "head" of it was about the size of a quarter and about 2 inches long. They were cute and blue and they kept doing little flips and stunts in a tank by themselves, they were not on their own i think because they were in a tiny 1/4th gallon tank that hung over the side of a display tank with anemones and coral in it. The store called them "Blue Moon Jellys" they were a great color of blue. I was wondering if anyone has heard of, or seen one and if they can live with fish. When i was there i was asking about what tank to get and lighting and i was in a rush so i didnt ask. please post any information.

Jelly fish are definatly Expert level, they need specialized equipment. they are also dangerous to the hobbiyest. This ius one of those criiters that if you need to ask about it you dont have the right set up. I am not trying to insult you at all please dont take it that way. these creatures are Extremely difficult to care for.
if you really want to keep jellys do a lot of research and look into Kreisel tanks.

they will die in those square tanks the store is just hoping to sell them off before it happens or doesnt know. either way square tanks are not good for jellies.

a round tank is needed for them and although i have never kept them if you go to the NY aquarium they have a few of them in a tank with some fish. I think there was some clowns and and some other small fish. Very cool little guys.

Iv seen round tanks with them before and they always have pump systems creating a circlular flow around the tank. Iv heard that they can't hit the sides or they will die so the constant "vprtex" keeps them from hitting the walls dead on. I don't know, seems like a lotta work for something like that.
