And yes, it does look like a Xanthid to me.
Congrats again on finding him!
I have some suggestions on what do with that crab after all the aggravation he's caused you

i was going to steem him and feed him to my cat.....

but i have to admit he has been a true warrior. i wish i had another tank set up oh well maybe someone will want him

yes there was a scape down his back.....that is the only large one i have in the tank.
