Does it come with some kind of syringe? What are people using to inject aiptasia's with? What do you do with the dieing, dead aiptasia? How toxic is the run-off? The additional stuff that doesnt make it into the anemone's mouth? Does you tank absorb it well or are you coutning on your skimmer and carbon? Regards!

Yes it comes with a little plastic syringe that you use to inject the aiptasia with. Make sure to get it right in its mouth to be the most affective. It will shrivel up and really won't be a problem, but I guess you could suck it up with a turkeybaster afterwards. I usually just swish whatever liquid misses into the water and have never had any problems.

I have NOT used Joe's juice...However, I have used near boiling hot RO water shot with a syringe directly at the aptasia..that has worked best for me so far. I just let my skimmer take out the debris. I am currently trying Berghia Nudibranchs. They actually only eat aptasia....I have them in a small tank with a couple rocks that have aptasia..so far they are doing a nice, but slow, job on removing them.

Notice how most of these posts are looking for other remedies in the process?
Here is the thing with Aiptasia. They produce by what are called Petals that they "grow" around the base of them. In the event you squirt them, the aiptasia will shrivel up and cover up and protect the Petals. It will kill the Aiptasia, but the Petals will survive. Now only about 1 in 8 Aiptasia will have Petals. This is why, when the people that have Aiptasia squirt the thing, they occasionally have 14 more pop up around the area. USE PEPPERMINT shrimp. The one kind that will eat them, I forgot the name right now, WILL EAT THEM. I don't care what anyone says. You just cannot feed the shrimp for about a week and eventually they WILL eat the Aiptasia if you have the peppermint shrimp in large enough numbers. About 1 per 8-10 gallons is good.

As long as you get the right ones, I have NEVER had a problem. They FREAKED me out at first because I have so many clams in the tank. I have NEVER had them mess with any of my inverts or clams. They might dance around on them, but never bite at them or anything. I usually have a strict no pincher rule as stupid as that may sound.
If you have "baby clams" like inside of 1.5 inches, the shrimp WILL eat them. Lysmata Wurdemanni is I believe their technical name. I was going to start a berghia breeding tank, which is EXTREMELY hard though. I got the tank and rock just COVERED with aiptasia. After putting 6 of them in the 55 gallon and not feeding for a week, 2 days later the entire tank was clear and I have had two pop up since that should disappear rather quickly (knock on wood).

i hv 2 peppermints in my 72. they r pretty small in size compared to the skunks. they hide a lot during the day. they dont seem to bother any corals, inverts or my 1 and only clam.
