Just a Thought

Hi all,
Just a quick question. Does anyone know if Macro Algea can be hurt by fish medication? The reason that I ask is that I want to double my QT tank as a small display tank, and I know that I can't have any corals or inverts in a tank that gets medication dosing for sick or new fish. I thought maybe I could add a couple different Macro's just to add a bit of color. Aside from fish, the only other things in the tank will be live rock and crushed coral.
Please let me know what you all think. Thanks.

The opposite, well copper meds at least. The macro algae will start pulling copper out of the water, making it hard to keep the proper levels.

I would just throw out the macro algae after the medication dosing is over. If you're using something like chaeto it needs to be harvested regularly anyways so just take from your main tank to your QT tank and just dump as needed IMO.

IMO & IME; a QT shouldn't have anything that can't be sterilized or disgarded after use. Different stages of many parasites could find refuge in the algae---for example.
