This is the idea....what would happen if i threw some pieces of live rock in side of my magnum 350 and let it run in the canister? meaning not in side of the media holder or whatever but just throw it in there. what's your ideas on that?

This would work,,,But also would have the same potential for trapping waste and causing high nitrates as the bio balls and other bio media...I would NOT do it.

Live rock works when water slowly travels thru it. I think forcing water thru it is not a good idea

Also, the lr wouldn't do very well because it doesn't have any light to stimulate growth.
