Just bought a used MH Light Need Help

I got a used 175w Hamilton MH light from craigslist. Its a pendant light that should be mounted from my ceiling since its in the living room Now i dont know how heavy the new ones are but this one is kinda on the heavier side. My tank is a 40 gallon and its in the cycling process rite now. I tucked it into the corner of the room and now i am looking to do two things. ONE: I want to run the MH light AND my brand new t-5/actinic unit but dont know how to mount the two. SECOND: What kinda mounts ca i make or buy to hang the MH light?

Any pics of the area your planning to mount the light? I can think of something, but it would require you to make some kind of canopy to mount the T5's in and you could easily do something to work the MH in, but with that said the MH technically wouldn't be mounted to the ceiling, it would be mounted in the canopy with the T5's. Kinda hard to explain.

I am going to try and post. The tank is not even close to being done.Tommorow i got more hawaiian sand and live rock. Anyway the light right now is sitting on top of something i put together with a closerack its terrible i was just figuring stufff out.

I'm still trying to figure out the pic posting with the new setup....What I was suggesting is building yourself a sleek little canopy that can be suspended from the ceiling and you would mount the MH pendant in the canopy with the top open to allow free air movement around the housing of the MH. The T5's could be mounted in the same canopy.....Basically the MH in the center of the canopy and the T5's mounted on front and back of MH. With alittle work it can all be hidden....

Wow really good idea i think i'm gonna hafta look over that post to visualize it a couple times haha. Not sure if you looked at my other response but cute kid!!

I wish I was good with SketchUp, because I could easily draw it up there.....Basically what I was suggesting was a rectangular canopy or whatever shape would fit your tank, and you would just build a box without a top and bottom to start. What is the height of the bell pendant? You could build the box to totally conceal the pendant from view or allow a little of the top exposed. Then on the bottom side facing the water surface, you could rabbit the inside of your rectangular box and put in a panel that the MH pendant would sit upon in the center of the canopy, and your T5's would be mounted to the underside of the bottom on either side of the MH.......You could again recess the bottom panel deep enough to hide the T5's from view.....
Yes Thank you for the compliment

haha i actually saved your response so when i'm at work tomm (selling cars)!!! LOL i can draw it out alittle and figure out the best way to do it. I really thank you for responding

. Honestly I don't think it will be super difficult....I'm just not the greatest explaining, but could show you 100 different ways if you were sitting here though....I just love to make noise in the garage and drive the wife nuts.......
