Just got a 10g Setup. How did I do?

I bought the whole 10g setup from a guy that is in the local reefers club.
He did a ton of electrical work that looks pretty sweet (he's a fire inspector and a volunteer fireman, so I know that it was set up properly).

[hr]
INCLUDED...
tank/stand/canopy
metal halide ballast
175w 20k MH bulb
reflector/socket
ballast housing
misc. electrical (GFCI, 5 receptacles, 1 switch, single-gang boxes, fittings, wiring)
Tetra-Tec HOB filter
Tetra-Tec heater (heater is add-on to HOB filter, and keeps it out of tank)
2 Aquaglobe powerheads
Rio 800 pump for AUTO TOPOFF system included
and 2 pieces of dense LR. (guessing 8-10 LBS)

I got this all for $250. He itemized out each of the equipment and came to over $400 and not including small misc. parts, shipping, time and manual labor. I thought it was a pretty sweet deal cause it's a plug and play system.
I'm wondering if I should upgrade the FILTER. or is that unnecessary because I'll have plenty of LR(20lbs) in the tank??? what is generally considered the best filter for a 10g - are there a couple that stand out above the rest???????
( I've got a 90g, so I've got plenty of experience. I'm psyched to get a yellow citron/shrimp pair. )

Sounds too good to be true!
I'd leave the filter. They're nice for scrubbing & the heater thing on yours might be nice. Keep us updated on the 175MH. I've been thinking of upgrading the 70w HQI on my 10 to a 150 or 175.

I'll post pix later.
I painted the stand and canopy (with trim) black last night and it looks so good. I can't wait.

he had no problem with overheating. kept it at 80 +/- 1/2 a degree. there are 2 fans inside the canopy as well. guess I forgot to mention. Plus a glass piece to go under the MH.
here's what it did look like. (there's trim on the stand now)

Sounds really sweet!!
I use a Tertra tec HOB filter in my 20 and I LOVE it ...They add volume, can be set to have a small surge and the heater out of hte tank is great!
The key is to keep the water volume up so you don't get a lot of air bubbles!!
Show us some pictures once it is set back up!! looks sweet now !!
