He is cool to watch but one question, does he stay on the sand mostly? I have some green hair but It's mostly near the top of the tank.
I'm thinking he will find it when he is used to his new tank. Just need some opinions.
thanks.

He'll get used to it and get to chompin all the algae in your tank. Mine even gets the stuff that grows on the sand. The only thing he really doesn't touch is the algae that grows on the live rock, go figure.

ours eats any and anywhere, he does not however seem to like real long stuff, so we had toprune it back a little by hand, and he does jsut fine(if it is shorter)

Mine cleaned up my reef algae all together. Big fat belly. I did read that they also do not have a swim bladder (like Hawkfish) so it's harder for them to swim up to the top of the tank. Occasionally I'll see mine dancing up higher to reach the nori that I have on higher clips. Like the previous post...mostly the short hair algae. They are also omnivorous! I was supprised when mine ate a big'ol piece of shrimp once (not a live one :) ) until I read that.

I saw him up on top of my rocks today, but wrong side where all the hair is. Go figure.
I do see him pick at something, so he is doing his/her job. I'm sure he will find my field of grass. <img src="graemlins//yeahright.gif" border="0" alt="[yeahright]" />

I have had two now, and neither one would touch the stuff on the substrate or LR. He would rather eat diatoms off the glass cause it's easy.
What should I do, and my y.tang won't touch it either. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

Do they need sand or would they do OK with just coral substrate?
Also, has anyone had any problems with keeping one and a crab. I have an emerald crab that I am keeping my eye on.

My lawnmower has finally started to eat off the live rock and off the live sand. Pretty soon there won't be any algae left for him to eat, what then?

My Lawnmower will eat from the same algae supplements I feed my Yellow Tang on the vege clip.
